Description
Mastering RATSTATS may be challenging without sufficient knowledge gain confidence and understanding for effective usage.
RATSTATS is a free software package developed and implemented by the Office of the Inspector General to help design, select, and extrapolate statistically valid random samples. The OIG primarily relies on the RATSTATS software when performing audits of providers. Given the OIGs use of this software when performing audits of providers, it is important for providers, payers, and compliance professionals to have a good understanding of the RATSTATS software. Unfortunately, the OIG has released a pair of lengthy documents that do little to explain the software in a digestible manner. This presentation will explain how to use and understand the RATSTATS software in a userfriendly manner. The presentation explains the softwares purpose, capabilities, and shortcomings. The presentation will also explain some key points to consider when scrutinizing and rebutting poorly performed opposing analysis.
